The Challenge
CAMDAS is a community-based addiction service covering Cavan and Monaghan. Their service data and client records were tracked and stored through a combination of paper files, spreadsheets, and local folders, and it had become unmanageable. Staff were spending more time on administration than on client support. It was becoming harder to meet reporting requirements and track meaningful outcomes. There was a growing sense of frustration and concern about the impact on both staff wellbeing and client care.
The Solution
Enclude introduced eCASS – a tool designed specifically for addiction services, but also one that can be tailored to meet the requirements of a specific client.
Zoe Wells, Northeast Regional Manager, outlined our collaboration: “Enclude met us where we were. They listened carefully to how we work, what our values are, and where the pressure points lay. Rather than pushing a complex or off-the-shelf system, they co-designed a solution with us, one that was secure, user-friendly, and tailored to our real needs.”

The Impact
“We have system that’s easy-to-navigate for managing client information. Staff can securely access and update client records in real-time, regardless of where they’re based. It’s brought consistency and clarity. Everyone feels more organised, and the quality of support we provide has improved.” Zoe continues.
Better Use of Time
The organisation has saved a significant amount of time on manual data entry and reporting. Easily several hours per staff member each week – time now spent engaging with clients, supporting families or planning service improvements.
Improved Client Experience
Using Add-Ons such as the SMS tool, to remind clients of appointments has increased attendance rates. Staff can now access client records in real-time and get a clearer immediate picture of the client’s journey meaning time spent with clients is more impactful.
Informed Service Development
Use of Reports and Dashboards has allowed the team to more easily spot trends – whether in demographics, substances used, or factors influencing addiction. This allows them to provide a more responsive and targeted service that meets community needs as they are developing.
Better Data
Using a single system has meant a significant reduction in data errors and duplication – and made it so much easier to spot any issues before they become a problem.
Easier Reporting
eCASS was built upon best practice in the addiction sector, taking into account its specific data and reporting requirements. This means that it’s much easier to provide reporting to key stakeholders such as the Drugs Taskforce.
“eCASS has strengthened our ability to advocate for our work by giving us clearer, more consistent data. It’s also supported us to build stronger reflective practices internally and helped us bring more structure to things like supervision and service review. It’s not just a tool; it’s helped us grow as a team.” says Zoe.
